Taking a short trip to seattle washington on december 26 do you think things will be any better over there ?

I just heard on the news that washington has been declared i state of emergency. I also seen earlier that gas stations are running out of gas. My son is scheduled for an out patient surgery the 28th. We will arrive in seattle the 26th and leave the 29th. I am kinda concerned however I am thinking just maybe things will be back to normal???? any ideas?
